The Year of Restoration

The Year of Restoration is our theme and direction for 2007.

Sheltering people is what most shelters do and that is it.

Not so with O.D.M. Our statistics are up each year. In 2007 this may or may not be true.

We have always aimed at rehabilitation – body, soul and mind. In 2007 we will concentrate even harder.

You support us because we strive to not invite the shiftless and rebellious, but to let everyone know that we are not a shelter for a stopover to another shelter. We are a working, caring and giving community for those who want to stay and make this a better community.

The Year of Restoration has begun.

II Corinthians 9:6 says give sparingly and you shall reap sparingly. Give bountifully and you shall receive bountifully.

We at O.D.M. shall give bountifully, in a constructive way, so that our homeless and poor receive bountifully in shelter, meals, programs and all the help and love we can give.

Text Box: Isaiah 40:28-31
Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; He offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Psalm 51: 10-13
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me again the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to sinners and they will return to you.

Thank-you

To all of you who donated toys, money, blankets, scarves, gloves, and volunteered during this past Holiday season,  Open Door Mission would like to thank-you for your participation and generosity.  Many children and adults were blessed by your gifts.
